I purchased your board with the consideration that I could later upgrade it keeping up with technology. If you have not place the system into use yet and want to install and give it a try, good luck. Leave the disk in the drive as Windows setup copies the files from the disk to the Windows installation folders. If that works, great! You could use this to notify you of a failure. The Adaptec-based controllers have a storage manager available; not sure about the Intel ones though.

This is all nice and dandy, but if doesn't have the ability to interface with the controller it's not any more sophisticated in its monitoring than Windows' Virtual Disk Services management see the screenshot. It's worth a look.
